Johanna Medranda is a stand-up comedian based in Metro Detroit. Originally from Peru, she brings a sharp, first-generation perspective to her enticing premises and surprise punchlines. Johanna’s high energy, undeniable stage presence, and inability to not over-share will leave you laughing at fake accents and true stories.

Comedy showcases, festivals, and publications have highlighted and featured Johanna throughout North America & Canada.

Notably: The Keane Theater at the University of Michigan, The Laugh Factory, Milwaukee Comedy Festival, NPR’s “What’s So Funny About Detroit?”, Philly Helium, The Lincoln Lodge, TreeTown Comedy Festival, MadHouse Comedy Club, Capitol Theatre Windsor, Back Door Comedy Toronto, Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, Hell Yes Fest, The Comedy Bar Chicago, and The DeVos Performance Hall where she was indeed nervous but ultimately did make 1,200 people laugh simultaneously and she will be chasing that high until further notice.
